General Questions
FAQ
Do you teach my subject/at my level?
We teach maths, english, science and programming for all ages. Simkins Tutoring offers tuition at KS3, GCSE, A Level, and University in addition to tuition for general interest. We help students to identify how they learn best, create a revision schedule and tailored notes, and find ways of teaching that best benefit the student. We can help students to study for their exams and help them solidify their knowledge, or dive deeper into the subject; exploring interesting topics that will fuel a students love for their subject. Learn more about our services here.
Do you teach online or in person?
Simkins Tutoring is primarily an online business. We have tutors all across the UK and the world, so if you’re after in-person tuition there may be a tutor nearby to help you. Please enquire using our contact form above. Our tutors use Microsoft Teams and Zoom for our lessons.
How much do you charge?
KS3 or below: £30/hour
GCSE: £35/hour
A Level: £40/hour
University: £50/hour
How does online tutoring work?
We tutor over Microsoft Teams, Zoom and Google Meet, depending on what is best for the student and the tutor. We send the student a link to a private video call before each lesson, and during the call we will share our screens and go over notes, questions, or any other material that the student wishes to discuss.
The student will have access to a private Google Drive folder, in which will be all of their lesson notes that we have worked on. We urge students to keep their own notes during lessons, but these online notes can be accessed and edited by the student at any time between lessons.
Who are you/what are your qualifications?
We are a team of tutors comprised of teachers, examiners, and students from top universities. Our team has collectively accumulated thousands of hours of tuition experience, both privately and through academic institutions.

Do you have any recommendations/reviews?
Our reviews are shown on the bottom of this page, and on Google!
How do I pay?
You will be sent an invoice on the first of each month. These invoices will have the details of the lessons given the previous month, and the companies bank details. We appreciate payment via bank transfer.
For any courses involving block-booking, we ask for payment in advance.
